Dragging a Sled Behind a Car
My anonymous friends and I were sitting in my room one evening, talking about various crazy things we had done in the past. I got to mentioning that I always wanted to tie a sled to the back of a car and drive around, so that's what we did! It was great fun, and majorly irresponsible.
We recorded some pictures and videos of it by leaning out the back window with my digital camera. You can check them out here. Remember, do not attempt this at home, attempt it on the streets instead.
Clock Radio
I had an exam at 9:30 one day, and I had set my alarm the previous night to 6:55 so that I would have lots of time to hit snooze once or twice, and time to eat and shower. I ended up waking up naturally at 10:10. I looked over at my alarm, and sure enough, it was set to 6:55, and the switch was in the 'ON' position. I either slept right through the loud, piercing sound for an hour, or the damn thing just didn't go off.
I had to call a cab to get to my exam. I was over an hour and a half late. Luckily, I found my professor just as I was getting to the exam room. She let me write the exam for a full three hours, despite being so late. I was shipped around to about three different rooms during that time, and in the last room, there were people talking to me asking how my exam was going. It was a really rough experience and very stressful. It turns out that I got 82% on the final, so everything was all right.
When I got home from my exam, I decided to have a look at my alarm clock to see what was wrong with it. I couldn't seem to find anything abnormal about it.
Shopping Carts
A few friends and I went to Patty's Pub here in Ottawa the other night. On our way home, we found some shopping carts in the bus station at Billings Bridge. My nameless friends decided to help out the staff by returning the carts to the bottom of the stairs, and I contributed by recording this charitable action taking place.

Logitech Mouse
In the winter, the air gets so dry that the static electricity buildup is unreal. I get shocked by everything in my bedroom. In the morning, I hit the "snooze" button on my alarm clock, which is where I usually get shocked. This particular morning, however, I managed to retain my charge after hitting the alarm clock. I then touched my computer's mouse so that the monitors would power back on. In doing so, I sent howevermany thousands of volts to it, and fried it. It hurt like hell. The keyboard is on the same USB hub, and it's LEDs all turned off after the shock. I powered the computer off and then back on, and the mouse still would not work, although the keyboard did. A video of the mouse not working can be seen below.

After I got back from school, I went to Staples and bought a new mouse. When I got home, I installed the new mouse, and then took the old one into the garage to "inspect" it. The video of me "inspecting" it with a two pound sledgehammer can be seen below.

Some Monitor
At the end of the summer, when I got back to the house that I stay at in Ottawa for university, I saw a monitor sitting in the room where I put my two servers. I asked all of my housemates if one of them owned it, or knew if it was broken. I was told that the girl that was subletting one of the rooms over the summer owned it, and that it was not working. I told everyone that I would get to testing it someday, but laziness prevailed. A few months later, I had a few nameless friends over, and we were at a loss as to what to do to pass the time. That's when I got the idea to "test" the monitor. We put it in the trunk of my friend's car, and drove to a nearby construction site so that we could give it a thorough inspection. We threw a whole bunch of big rocks at it to get the case open, but we never ended up finding the problem with it. I took some pictures of it after our thorough "testing". If anybody out there sees an obvious problem with this monitor, please let me know so that I can go back to the construction site and bring it home to perform the necessary repairs. At the moment, however, I am too busy to really look into this further.
