This page is about my Kona Dew, which I bought from a nice guy in town after my 2009 Kona Big Kahuna was stolen.
The Kona Dew is a commuter bike. It rolls on 32x700c tires, and has 21 gears. There is no front shock, which is bad for rough Ottawa roads, but is good for saving weight. This bike has rolling resistance comparable to a full-out road bike, but the practicality of a mountain bike.
The Dew rides so well that it makes me miss the Big Kahuna a lot less. On the road, it is a superior machine because of the tires and riding position. After fitting a set of fenders from Mountain Equipment Co-op and a few safety things like a head light and tail light, I officially had the best bike for getting around over any other bike I've owned. It wasn't even expensive; I only paid $250 for it, and all it needed was new tires and will eventually need new pedals.
Of course, having learned my lesson with the Big Kahuna, I lock up the Dew with my home made bike lock.
