Intake Manifold Gaskets

With the AFR Elminiator cylinder heads, custom gaskets must be used to give a proper seal around the intake ports. I had two spare sets of gaskets, Fel-Pro 1207 and Fel-Pro 90314-1. Both sets did not provide an adequate seal around the intake ports.

On AFR's website, they specify that the correct gaskets for these heads is Fel-Pro number 1256. These gaskets provide the proper port location and size. They also have exhaust crossover provisions for EGR.

Fel-Pro intake gaskets come with stick-on front and rear cork gaskets to seal against the block. I have found that these work very well. With rubber end gaskets, I always found that they would just come out over time, and would instead just use a thick bead of RTV in their place. The adhesive gaskets make things a lot easier.
