The Author
My name is Craig Reyenga. I currently live in Ottawa, Canada. I am currently studying mechanical engineering at Carleton University, after having worked in IT for about two and a half years.
The Purpose of the Site
The purpose of this site is to provide unique content which is clearly explained, useful, and practical. Many sites on the internet have content which is copied from other sites and wrapped around a different layout. This site is original. I try to make my technical articles easy to understand, yet thorough enough to be worth reading. I often take many photographs of my projects (such as the engine rebuild) for my own reference, and so that others can see each step taking place.
Original Work
All of the text, photos, diagrams, code, and other content on this site is the original work of the author, unless otherwise noted. Permission to use the content on other sites or media is granted, provided a link to the original content is placed in the copy and the reproductions are not sold for money or commercial gain.
If you see content on this site which appears to be similar to content on another site, then the other site stole it from here, not the other way around.
Contributing to the Site
If you found something valuable on this site, please consider making a small donation. Any money received will go directly to the benefit of the site and not to my daily life or moneypit projects. Alternatively, you can buy a shirt from the online store.
This site costs me roughly $1500 per year in hosting costs. At times, this site has had to serve thousands of visitors in a single day. In order to have the versatility that this site requires, I use a dedicated host which is where most of the money ends up.
Powered By
This site runs off of a server hosted by The Planet Internet Services, Inc. The server runs FreeBSD and has a 100MBit symmetric link to the internet.
The website content itself is generated by a set of custom made Perl scripts running under the ubiquitous Apache HTTP server.
Most of the diagrams are drawn in Microsoft Visio, and exported to PNG format for high quality, low bandwidth use, and support by most popular web browsers. The HTML code is written using Notepad++. This site also makes use of some relatively simple JavaScript.

This site is tested using Mozilla Firefox 3.6, Internet Explorer 8, and
Google Chrome under Windows Vista. Other versions of the aforementioned
browsers should also work, along with other platforms.
The layout is optimised for 1024x768 or larger,
though 800x600 has been somewhat accomodated. 640x480 is used by too few visitors
to be considered relevant.
Viewing this site with a text-based browser such as Lynx is survivable.
